Fishing comes in many different styles, intensity levels and schools of thought. The guy sitting in a lawnchair by the pond sipping a beer and watching a bobber for wiggle, is a totally different kind of fishing than than the gun and run flats fly fishing. It is sometimes perceived that fly fishing is somehow more pure or civilized than bobber fishing. This is a completely false idea; fly fishing for a species such as bonefish is an exercise in futility.

The similarities between fishing and sailing are very close. Some days on the water are perfect, not a problem to be found. Fishing is the same way, the fish can be biting one day and then appear extinct the next. Fish are such finicky creatures that sometimes they won't even eat the bait that is right in front of their noses.
